Beginning Wheel Throwing (Adults)

Enjoy an evening filled with clay and wheel-throwing on the  beginner's level. During this class we will learn the basics to ceramics, how to create 3-D forms and wheel-throwing techniques.

Intermediate Wheel Throwing (Adults)

Enjoy an evening filled with clay and wheel-throwing on the  intermediate level. Join us as we climb to the next level of ceramics and learn how to create functional pieces of pottery. We will continue our process of creating 3-D forms and learning even more wheel-throwing techniques.

Card-making 

Participants will create personal greeting cards, as they learn watercolor wash techniques. Watercolorist, Tina Drew, demonstrates in this friendly and relaxing session. Participants are invited to explore their own compositions as well! No previous experience necessary.

Camera Sense! (Adults)

Learn photography from a local master! In this workshop, Jay Hamlin will lead students through an eight-week sensory photography experience aimed at capturing any subject with distinction and personal interpretation. Whether you are interested in photographing beautiful landscapes, family memories, or your next great culinary masterpiece, Jay's got you covered. Participants will experience personal critiques from an approachable and engaged professional. Participants are responsible for providing their personal camera phone or digital camera. No previous experience necessary.

Acrylic on Woodblock: Bird & Cherry Blossoms (Adults)

Learn to paint a classic motif on a unique surface! Artist Carissa Rasche will guide participants, as they render acrylic birds and cherry blossoms on a locally harvested tree cross-section. Participants will leave with finished artwork ready for immediate display. No previous experience necessary.

Pastels with Avon Waters

Join us  for an all-day pastel intensive suitable for beginners to advanced artists! Participants will enjoy a live demonstration of Avon's 'construction, deconstruction, and reconstruction' painting process.   Avon demonstrates the use of various wet pastel mediums to build paintings with depth, atmosphere, layers, and richness.   Participants bring, set up, and use their own materials; some materials provided for a limited number of beginners. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for participant set up. Sessions are from 9:00 a.m. to noon; and 1:00-4:00 p.m. Participants are welcome to bring a cooler and enjoy their lunch on campus!
