Sketchbook Keeping for Self-Care

Unwind and enjoy! In this three-session workshop, participants will learn sketchbooking techniques for relaxation and self-care. A variety of mediums and layouts will be explored. Participants will receive a 5"x8" sketchbook at the first session to use throughout the course. All materials provided. No experience necessary.​

Zoom Sketch of the Week
(Adults)
Join us as we create a new pencil sketch each week! Whether beginner or advanced, acquiring an ease of sketching, is a desire of all artists. Each week students will work from a digitally provided photo. We will analyze the compositions, address the components, and render the image intuitively with a variety of mark making. Drawing situation such as volume, perspective, and foreshortening will be explored. Possible subject matter will include landscape, still life, and figure. ​

Sessions include short, one to two-minute poses, as well as a final, longer pose of 12-20 minutes. Each session ends with time for applauding and sharing work with the model and fellow participants. Materials provided for artistic experimentation! Registration recommended, but not required. Walk-ins pay cash.

Intro to Watercolor Paints

Expand your technical knowledge and get to know your palette! Tina teaches transparency vs. opacity, granulation, lightfastness, tone, consistency, single vs. multi-pigments, pigment coding, staining, lift-ability, and dispersion. Participants will experiment with a variety of professional grade paints and produce reference images, in order to gain confidence working through watercolor challenges. A great way to try out the medium! All materials provided. No experience necessary.

Microfiction Writing Workshop
(Ages 16+)
Participants will learn microfiction techniques that lead to dynamic storytelling in 300 words or less. A great workshop for songwriters, journal-keepers, sketchbook-ers, and narrative poets. Also great for genealogists aiming to enhance their skills at recording snippets of family history. Handouts, writing exercises, and time for sharing included. Participants may bring their favorite writing tools for the workshop - notepads and pens, devices and laptops, all writing tools are welcome.
